Some might say it was inevitable that James would make real estate his career, as he possesses many of his well known and well respected father, Michael Dunn’s’ traits. Having been influenced over the years observing the success his father enjoyed, James developed a desire to follow that lead.

Completing a degree in Bachelor of Commerce in Property Economics James joined R & W Double Bay in 2007, initially in the Property Management Department. After eighteen months in this fast paced environment he decided to broaden his horizons in the European market. After enjoying the life of travel, he soon settled in London with one of the leading agencies. Commencing as a “Negotiator”, leasing high-end properties and enjoying phenomenal success doing so, James was quickly promoted to Assistant Manager in the prestigious South Kensington/Chelsea Branch. However, home beckoned and the sunshine, surf and Sydney lifestyle was too hard to ignore. James returned to R & W Double Bay initially as a Sales Assistant and Buyer Manager reacquainting himself with the local market.

Sixteen years on and now a Director, having bought into the business in 2018, and a family man with three children of his own, James continues to show his clients why his reputation as of one of the hardest working agents in the business pays off in the results he achieves. From sales ranging from $30 million waterfront to studio apartments James will stand by his clients and work to achieve the best result.

“I am driven to get the best outcome for my clients, I believe that we offer a service that is unmatched, something quite different from our competitors, and something that our clients will enjoy the benefits from,” says James.

“We want clients to feel that the property, whilst an integral part of the process, is not the only factor, it is the relationship and the manner in which the transaction takes place that will stay with them long after the contract is signed.”

Achieving numerous accolades from Rookie of The Year in his first year of sales to achieving R&W Number 1 Salesperson year on year, “I enjoy every piece of the puzzle that is a real estate transaction. There is nothing quite like the energy in this business, it’s exciting and yes long hours, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Dealing with people and property excites me as much as my passion for surfing and catching the perfect wave. There is always another wave, every wave is different, there is always another client and I keep perfecting my approach, my skills in both my personal and professional life to make sure I am being the best I can be so the passion will never diminish.”
