BATHROOM TILE TRENDS

BATHROOM TILE TRENDS

The timeless tile is the most utilised material in the bathroom — so choosing the right style is key to your bathroom's overall appeal.

Check out what designers are currently touting as the best bathroom tile trends, making a huge splash today!

Timber Look Tiles

Timber-look tiling has been adding a warm and calming backdrop to contemporary-style kitchens recently with spectacular results. Unlike natural timber, timber-look tiles are non-porous and maintenance free, yet still maintain the wonderful nuances, knots and grains, of real timber.

Glazed porcelain timber-look tiles are durable and come in a wide range of styles and lengths, similar to those of timber floorboards. Whether oak, cedar, or the white-washed Scandi-style pine, timber tiles capture the beautiful realistic look and feel of natural wood, and can seamlessly match floorboards throughout a home.

The timber-look tile trend is definitely growing in popularity, and we suspect this chic look is here to stay.

Herringbone & Chevron Tiles

Sophisticated and full of charm, the Herringbone and Chevron style of tiles have been a huge bathroom hit of late. Serious renovators are spoilt with an ongoing choice of new designs, textured surfaces, warm shades and textile-inspired patterns.

In existence, since the 16th century, the Chevron and Herringbone patterns, give a dramatic sense of character to a stylish wet room, and both create a strong focal point, whether it be for a splash back or feature wall tile.

Concrete Tiles

For understated sophistication, you can’t go past modernistic concrete tiles. With their edgy industrial impact, subtle textural movements and subtle greyscale tones, they boldly infuse industrial chic into a beautiful bathroom.

Concrete floor and wall tiles create an impressive backdrop teamed with metallic fittings and fixtures. You can also beautifully blend them with natural timber or stone, to create a timeless look you can enjoy for many years to come.

Patterned Tiles

Patterned tiles are beginning to reign supreme, with many new bathroom designs featuring creative decorative patterns and motifs on floors and walls. At present, there is a strong focus on diamonds, triangles, lanterns, star patterns and irregular formats, all vying for a new bathroom’s attention.

Designers are so in love with these beauties, that we expect to see more dynamic patterns evolving over time, all creating an amazing visual impact too many bathroom surfaces.

Morrocan Inspired Tiles

Moroccan inspired tiling with it’s bold exciting tile shapes and patterns, has been a dominant style trend for some time now - and is still continuing to emerge. From lantern shapes to patterned cement tiles, the level of creativity and surprise is on the up, and we expect exotic and visually striking trend to be around for sometime yet.

Mosaic Tiles

Mosaic tiles have their own unique way of adding visual impact to a space. They display an effortless sense of style that is timeless and with so many interesting patterns to choose from, it’s easy to find one that depicts your style.

One of the best things about mosaic tiles is that they have the same wow-factor as marble, but without the hefty price tag. Traditionally, made out of small pieces of coloured glass, stone, or other materials, known as tesserae, mosaics were a popular style trend back in Greek and Roman times, when used to beautify the many temples and palaces.

Today, these intricate tiles give bathroom designers a huge scope of creativity and the ability to create innovative pieces of artwork and eye-catching wall decor.

3D Tiles

The beauty of this style of tile, is that it is super tactile and super surprising. Designers believe that the 3D tile trend will rise in popularity over the next year and pave the way for some extraordinary bathroom features.

It is anticipated that European manufacturers will continue to push the boundaries and wow the industry with tiles that literally look like they jump off the wall.
